An object that fell from the rear rack of a motorcycle led a deputy to stop the driver and discover his license had been revoked for eight prior driving under the influence offenses, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Hansford Milton Comer, 57, of Sissonville was arrested for driving while revoked for DUI and charged with other traffic offenses, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
After seeing the object fall off the motorcycle on Sissonville Drive, Deputy B. K. Howery of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office made the traffic stop about 6:20 p.m. Saturday. The release said Comer had no driver’s license on him, no insurance for the vehicle and the license plate affixed to the motorcycle belonged on another vehicle.
Comer’s operator’s license was revoked for eight prior DUI offenses. Additionally, he was convicted of driving while revoked for DUI in 1995.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Kanawha Magistrate Julie Yeager arraigned Comer, and he was taken to South Central Regional Jail to be held until his bond is posted.
