The discussion on West Virginia's poverty problem continues.
Local leaders gathered in Huntington Friday to talk about how the problem affects children.
Thirty percent of West Virginians up to six years old live in poverty. The idea of the event was to brainstorm how to bring that number down.
“We’ve got lots of challenges, but the good news is that there are solutions to expand health care to invest in programs that will lift people out of poverty,” organizer Jim McKay said.
