The fire was reported extinguished as of 6:15 p.m.
Firefighters were on the scene of a large wildfire in northern Kanawha County Friday evening.
The fire started in the 600 block of Jakes Run Road in Elkview around 5:30 p.m.
No word is available on exactly how many acres have burned, but Eyewitness News has been told the flames are getting closer to houses.
