Students at Marshall University took a stand for freedom Friday.
They gathered at the student center to raise money and awareness to fight human trafficking. They literally stood on their feet all day, and plan to until 11 a.m. Saturday.
The students said the event is important because the problem in Huntington is greater than people realize.
"The drug vein coming from Detroit comes right through Huntington, and it’s a huge problem here,” said Marshall student Schuylar Reggi. “People don’t realize women come through here. It just travels together. "
Stand for Freedom' is put on by the International Justice Mission chapter. More than 200 students have participated in the event.
