News of a bust at an alleged drug house within just a few steps of a Cedar Grove school is getting a mixed reaction from parents.
Police said tips from the public paved the way for the arrest.
The alleged drug deals took place in January. Edward Spaulding is charged with delivery of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance within a thousand feet of a school.
A man was arrested in Cedar Grove Thursday night and charged with dealing drugs near a school.
Cedar Grove police said the arrest of Edward Spaulding was the result of an 18-month investigation that started with an emailed tip from a member of the community.
Spaulding, who resides at 306 John St., faces two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and one count of possession with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a school.
The home is located near Cedar Grove Community School.
Spaulding was taken to be arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
Police said the case may turn into a federal investigation, but did not elaborate on possible charges.
