The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office has unveiled its new website to the public.
The new website features information about the office's divisions and the people who work there. Users can find links to report crime tips, obtain a pistol permit and check a list of warrants in their area. The website also provides maps for detachment locations around the county.
Cpl. Brian Humphreys said the department's website was created to help answer any questions the public has, especially ones pertaining to safety.
"By having a website that's accessible, we hope that it will generate a few more tips," Humphreys said. "People who are spending a lot of their time online, it may be something where they would never pick up a telephone and call in a tip. But they can submit a tip and we'll keep their name out of it, but we'll be happy to receive it whatever way we get it."
