U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin spoke about safety Wednesday with the AFl-CIO at a rally at the state capitol.
Goodwin stressed why it’s vital to become involved in a community organization to prevent crime.
He said the prescription drug problem leads to crime in the state, and it's up to people in the community to help police and prosecutors get criminals off the streets.
Goodwin said his office has been able to prosecute more prescription pills cases throughout the years, and they're also tackling several cases involving gun crimes.
