Police responding to a car wreck near an Interstate 64 on-ramp Tuesday said they ended up arresting a driver involved.
A police report said that William Bailey, 21, of Prichard had slurred speech and was "paranoid, defiant, and combative." The report said he wouldn't cooperate with officers, and when police tried to handcuff him while he was still in his vehicle, they found an open folding knife in his right hand.
The report said the arrest was made about 3 p.m., but he did not specify where on I-64 the arrest was made.
Synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in the car, the report said
Bailey is charged with driving under the influence-drugs and an obstructing charge. He was being held in the Western Regional Jail.
