A Cabin Creek man was arrested and charged with presenting a forged prescription.
John Edward Elkins, 42, was arrested following an incident that happened about 7 p.m. Monday at the Family Pharmacy in Cross Lanes, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy C.E. O'Neal responded to the pharmacy after store employees reported what they believed to be a fraudulent prescription for narcotics. The release said the suspect presented a prescription at the pharmacy written for 30mg Roxicodone pills, a commonly abused pain medication.
Elkins was transported to Kanawha Magistrate Court and arraigned.
The investigation is continuing to locate the origin of the stolen prescription forms and others involved.
