Work to finish upgrades along U.S. Route 35 is slated to start later this month.
The West Virginia Division of Highways has been upgrading the 14-mile stretch from Putnam County into Mason County. The work is being done on the section with only two lanes remaining. Work crews have been widening the shoulders in certain areas and fixing other problems.
Work remains on a little more than two miles of the road. Once work is completed. the entire section will be paved.
