Members of the West Virginia Youth Symphony performed at the library today, in what will be one of the last events of its kind, because of budget cuts.
Members performed various works from different composers. The concert is part of the Sunday Jams series, which provides free live music, but library officials say this will be the last Sunday for the concert series because of recent budget cuts.
The West Virginia Supreme Court recently ruled that the Kanawha County Board of Education does not have to fund the library. The library board is now trying to come up with solutions to fill the major funding gap.
