A famous Hollywood actor was in town Saturday, hoping to educate parents and children about the dangers of the Internet.
Erik Estrada, who you likely remember from "CHiPs," was at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Hurricane to preview his movie "Finding Faith."
It's about a young girl who fell prey to a man online and was forced from Virginia to West Virginia before being rescued. The movie features members of the West Virginia State Police who captured the suspect.
Not only was Estrada debuting his movie, he was also talking to parents and kids about the "Do's" and "Don'ts" of the Internet.
“We made this movie with the sole purpose for children to be able to see it,” Estrada said. “Too many kids are being taken, and nobody is teaching them what not to do on the Internet.”
“The rescue done in the movie is done by the West Virginia State Police,” said Bedford County, Va. Sheriff Michael Brown.
Organizers also talked about the sex offender registry and how the state is working to extend efforts with compliance checks.
