EMBASSY SUITES UPDATE Source Of Smoke Found At Embassy Suites; No Fire Occurred

People were being allowed to return to the Embassy Suites in Charleston Friday evening after firefighters determined the smoke coming from the building was from a motor in an office on the first floor.
The building was evacuated about 5 p.m. as a precaution because of the smoke.
People were starting to return to the hotel about 5:30 p.m.
Police were on the scene Friday of a possible fire at Embassy Suites in Charleston.
Dispatchers said they received a report about a small fire on the second floor about 5 p.m.
No injuries were reported, but as a precaution they are evacuating the hotel.
