Two men were arrested in Huntington after authorities said they were involved in a home invasion in Lawrence County, Ohio.
Scott A. Edie II, 23, of Huntington and Joseph A. Workman, 38, of Barboursville, were arrested Thursday. Dispatchers alerted law enforcement that a truck involved in a home invasion in Chesapeake might be crossing into West Virginia, according to a criminal complaint filed at the Cabell Magistrate Court.
The suspected vehicle was stopped at a Huntington gas station, and the two occupants were searched, the complaint said. Police said that jewelry, that was later identified by the victim of the home robbery, was found inside the vehicle. Investigators said that a search at a home of one of the suspects revealed more stolen jewelry. The estimated value of the property is $15,000.
Edie and Workman were charged with receiving and transporting stolen property and being a fugitive from justice. The two could face additional charges in Lawrence County, Ohio.
They were being held in the Western Regional Jail.
