The Greenup County Sheriff Department arrested three people after deputies said they found an active meth lab where children lived close.
Mark C. Porter, 46, Adam Clifton, 25 of Flatwoods, and Christopher K. Jenkins, 23, of Greenup were arrested Thursday. Porter was charged with manufacturing meth, wanton endangerment and drug paraphernalia. Clifton was charged with manufacturing meth. Jenkins was charged with conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance.
Deputies said they were investigating a home in the 2000 block of Argillite Road after a report that meth was being made, according to a news release from the sheriff's department. Deputies said Porter and Clifton were inside the home at the time. Deputies said Jenkins showed up to buy meth while they were investigating. Children were living in apartment on the second floor at the time, the release said.
All three suspects were taken to the Greenup County Detention Center.
