Celebrations took place at the West Virginia state capitol as Diversity Day was observed Thursday.
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin joined the Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs in the lower rotunda to celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of African-Americans.
Other minority advocates in the business, education and faith-based communities from around the state also joined the even to show their support and appreciation.
