Dozens came out to honor African-American first responders Thursday for the final day of Black History Month.
This ceremony was part of the 2nd annual Black History Month continuing legal education presentation and star celebration.
The 11th Circuit Family Court in Kanawha County hosted the event.
Former firefighter Matthew Jackson was recognized. He said it used to be very difficult as a minority to advance in any job and he's happy that times have changed.
This year's theme was "The Power of One Effects Many."
