The Curtain Up Players version of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" takes a favorite fairy tale created by the Brothers Grimm and updates it with a musical adaptation. "Ever since I was little my parents told me that I looked like Snow White," Maggie Donahoe, who plays Snow White said. "And I just thought that it would be a nice experience and a lot of fun, which it has been." The story remains basically the same. Snow White is in danger. She escapes the evil queen and the palace by running into the forest. There she meets 7 new friends. However, instead of Grumpy, Sneezy, Dopey and all the rest we are introduced to Sarge, Gabby, Gloomy, Gus, Ticklish, Spritely, Snore and Slowpoke. "Maggie was interested in being Snow White," Maggie's mother Lara Donahoe, who plays the Evil Queen said. So, once she decided to audition for Snow White my husband and I both wanted to audition for the show and we ended up all three getting cast. So, she's the big reason that we wanted to do it." The dwarfs protect Snow White from the queen and her evil minions and work together to ensure the princess enjoys a life that includes a lot of "happily ever afters". "I hope that they get to see that good overcomes evil," Lara Donohoe said. "And I also hope that they get to see what normal, everyday people can accomplish on a stage when they work together." Joining the traditional cast of characters is a palace cat and a magical fox. This version of "Snow White" is rated "G" and is appropriate for all audiences. "Well, we just felt like it would be a great family show," Cody Vinson, the co-director said. "People could bring their kids and it would be a great, wholesome show for everyone."
