The Athens Sheriff's Department arrested a suspect after a standoff with a man allegedly firing a shotgun.
David Treadway, 43, of Coolville was charged with having a weapon while intoxicated and inducing panic. On Wednesday, deputies responded to a home on Brimstone Rd. in the Coolville area after reports of an intoxicated man firing a gun and threatening people, Athens Sheriff Pat Kelley said.
Deputies said family members told them the suspect threatened to kill them during an argument. After a three hour standoff, the Sheriff's Special Response Team was able to arrest the suspect.
