The Kanawha County Library's Board of Directors met Tuesday night to discuss the West Virginia Supreme Court's decision last week that the Kanawha County School Board no longer has fund the library.
The school system was giving the library millions of dollars each year, representing about 40% of the library's entire budget.
The board says it is a setback, but they are working on moving forward and looking for solutions.
"We'll be looking at any other sources of funding we can and assessing the situation at the end. In fact, if those efforts don't yield the results that we need, we are going to have to take significant steps to reduce services," says Kanawha County Public Library Executive Director Alan Englebert.
The school board had been fighting the legal battle for nearly a decade.
