A former employee faces charges of taking money from the Greenbrier County Committee on Aging Inc.
West Virginia State Police arrested Lisa C. Ayers of Charmco on Monday. She's charged with forgery, access device fraud and embezzlement.
First Sgt. Michael Baylous, State Police spokesman, said an investigation by Cpl. G.J. Reed found that money was taken from the agency over the past two years through illegal ATM withdrawals and the issuance of fraudulent checks.
The investigation stemmed from a complaint by representatives of the agency.
Baylous said Ayers formerly served as the agency's financial officer.
She remains free on bond following an appearance in magistrate court.
