A Charleston woman accused in the death of her boyfriend was sentenced to one year in jail today for involuntary manslaughter.
Stacy McCormick, 30, was sentenced in Kanawha County Circuit Court Monday. She is accused of stabbing her boyfriend, David Snyder, to death on the West Side of Charleston in the summer of 2012.
McCormick will also get credit for time served.

A woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death on the West Side of Charleston had her request for bond denied Thursday.
An attorney for Stacy McCormick, 30, asked for her bond to be set at $25,000 and for her to be placed on home confinement until the next stage in the proceedings. In court today, however, a judge denied the bond motion. McCormick is accused of stabbing David Snyder in the lung at an apartment on Washington Street West in August.
McCormick’s attorney had argued her charge should be manslaughter rather than murder, but the prosecutor disagreed. The prosecutor argued that preliminary reports do not support the request. Snyder died because of a blood clot in the lung that was a direct cause of the stabbing, the prosecutor said.
McCormick will remain in jail until her next court hearing.
