Milton , Cabell County , West Virginia
State Fire Marshals said the cause of a fatal fire in Milton early this morning was most likely electrical in nature. It reportedly started on the front porch of the home on Dry Ridge Road about 4 a.m. Monday.
The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's office identified the man as Frank Linville, Jr., 75. His wife escaped the fire.
Neighbor Sandra Hatfield shared her memories of Linville after the tragedy. She said he was a "quiet, meek, sweet man".
She has known the family for several years and said they are very hard-working. She said the last time she saw Linville was when they drove by after church Sunday afternoon.
Hatfield said the tragedy serves as a solemn reminder. "Be good to people because you never know when it's the last time you'll see your family, neighbors. We'll miss him," she said.
