Federal funding was announced for three W.Va. fire departments Sunday.
U.S. Senators Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin, along with Rep. Nick Rahall announced more than $173,000 in federal funding for the departments to purchase safety equipment and strengthen training and wellness programs.
The Ellenboro Volunteer Fire Department will receive $78,470, the Harts Volunteer Fire Department will receive $47,443 and the Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department will receive $47,272, according to a news release from Rockefeller’s office.
