The Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred Saturday in Carter County.
Lewis J. Fankell, 17, of Grayson, Ky., was killed when he lost control of his car and hit a tree on Kentucky State Route 1444, according to a news release from the Kentucky State Police.
Fankell was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said alcohol use was not suspected in the crash.
