Hundreds of high school and middle school students took a stand against smoking and tobacco products and participated Friday in Tobacco Free Day at the West Virginia Capitol.
This program specifically targets tobacco use among the state's youth population. Plenty of success has been noted over the past few years. Statistics show that tobacco use in any form, including cigarettes, smokeless tobacco and cigars, has decreased by 28 percent among the state's high school students and by 43 percent among the state’s middle school students between 2000 and 2011.
