Local middle school girls were at the Clay Center Thursday to learn about engineering.
Bridgemont Community and Technical College hosted Introduce a Girl To Engineering Day. This nationally-recognized day increases awareness of the profession and celebrates engineering achievements by women. Activities at today's event included a variety of demonstrations and experiments to try to spark interest in the field.
More than 130 eighth grade girls from Boone, Cabell and Kanawha counties attended the event.
