A Columbus, Ohio man was arrested on drug charges near Logan on Tuesday.
Deputy sheriffs of the US 119 Drug Task Force and members of the Logan County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant for the apartment of Amy Selvey on Auburn Avenue. Upon entry, they said they observed Dominique Lee Simmons, 23, standing in the kitchen.
Deputies said they found $947 in Simmons’ front pocket. They said they also found a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol, two clear plastic bags containing crack cocaine, two clear plastic bags containing powder cocaine, one set of digital scales with a white powder substance on it, Morphine and Oxycodone pills and a clear plastic bag containing an unknown white powdery substance in the kitchen area.
Deputies said they found three small pieces of crack cocaine in the apartment's living room.
Deputies said the search warrant was the result of a controlled purchase of crack cocaine made from inside the residence 48 hours prior, according to a news release from the Logan County Sheriff’s department.
Logan County Sheriff's deputies arrested Simmons and charged him with possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver. He was taken to the Southwestern Regional Jail and placed on a $10,000.00 cash bond.
