Metro 911 said Interstate 64 eastbound between Oakwood and Virginia Street exits was reopened Tuesday morning.
A dispatcher said the lanes were cleared about 9:25 a.m., but traffic was moving slowly.
The lanes had been closed after a log truck flipped on its side.
Three lanes of I-64 eastbound in the Charleston area, remained closed Wednesday morning, after a log truck flipped on its side.
The accident happened about 4:00 a.m. at the Oakwood Exit.
The big rig spilled its load of logs all over the highway, closing all three eastbound lanes.
Eastbound traffic into Charleston was being diverted off the Montrose and Oakwood Exits, while crews worked to clear the scene.
Authorities said it could be several hours before the wreck is cleared. Motorists are urged to avoid that area of I-64 until further notice. Keep checking wchstv.com for updates.
