A candlelight vigil is scheduled for Monday to remember a man who was murdered for trying to protect a young girl.
Mike Cassel was shot multiple times inside his home on Red Oak Street on Charleston's West Side last Sunday. Police said the suspect, Patrick Price, then killed himself.
Investigators believe Price barged into Cassel's home to get revenge. Cassel had reported Price to police for allegedly abusing his own daughter.
Friends and family plan to come together at 7 p.m. Monday on Red Oak Street for the vigil for Cassel.
