Nebo , Clay County , West Virginia
West Virginia State Police are investigating an alleged home invasion in Clay County.
Troopers said a 68-year-old man was tied up and robbed on Sunday afternoon at his home on Sugar Run Road in Nebo.
Troopers said the victim suffers from Alzheimer's Disease and dementia.
About 3 p.m. Sunday, the suspects allegedly confronted the man outside his home, then when they got him inside, they taped his hands with duct tape and robbed him of a large amount of cash that was hidden in a root cellar outside.
Troopers believe the suspects knew the victim because they knew where the money was being stored.
The victim was allegedly tied up for several hours before he wiggled his way out of the tape and was able to cut it off with a pocket knife. Troopers said he then went to a neighbor's home, and they took him to the State Police detachment in Big Otter to report the crime.
At this time, no arrests have been made, but State Police are investigating.
