The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said a man faces a home confinement violation and will be charged with escaping from an alternative sentencing program.
Robert Wayne Cole, 20, was arrested Wednesday after he violated his court-ordered home confinement by leaving his residence in South Charleston and did not return, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Acting on a tip, Kanawha County home confinement deputies and deputy sheriffs responded to an address in Slack’s Trailer Park near Big Chimney. The release said they located Cole inside a residence hiding beneath a stack of dirty clothes.
Cole was home confinement program after violating his probation on multiple counts of breaking and entering, the release said. He was serving two consecutive 1 to 10-year sentences.
Cole was transported to South Central Regional Jail where he awaits a hearing on the home Confinement violation. A charge of escape from an alternative sentencing program also will be sought, the sheriff’s office said.
