A councilman for the city of Vienna has been arrested after he allegedly drove drunk.
Paul E. Thorton Jr., 61, of Vienna was driving along Rt. 14 near Boaz Sunday, when deputies noticed he was weaving and nearly running off of the roadway, according to court documents.
Thorton was driving impaired and failed all sobriety tests, deputies said, registering a .163 blood alcohol conten level. Thorton has been charged with driving under the influence.
