PRESCRIPTION PILL BUST Troopers Discover More Than 1,000 Pills During Traffic Stop

Three men were arrested Tuesday after troopers conducted a traffic stop on their vehicle and discovered more than 1,000 pills.
Dennis Hurd, 56 and Steven Washington, 25, both of South Point, Ohio and William Whitfield, 28, of Huntington, West Virginia were arrested. All three men have been charged with possession of Oxycodone and drug trafficking.
It happened about 8 p.m. along US 23 southbound near the Rosemount area of Scioto County. When troopers approached their vehicle, they found what they believed to be a large bag of pills, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol. After searching further, they found 1,004 30mg Oxycodone pills with a street value of about $24,000.
All three men were taken to the Scioto County Jail.
