Hundreds of people headed to the University of Charleston Tuesday hoping to improve their health.

The University of Charleston's School of Pharmacy hosted a community health fair. Visitors received several free screenings, including glucose, cholesterol and bone density.

The fair was part of the National Script Your Future Challenge, which is a monthlong competition among student pharmacists and other health professional students across the country. The goal is to raise awareness on the importance for patients with chronic illnesses to take medications as prescribed.

Feb. 16 - Script Your Future Informational Session, sponsored by Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP) and American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) (location TBA)

Feb. 17 - Script Your Future Informational Session and Brown Bag Event, sponsored by Christian Pharmacist Fellowship International (CPFI) at Emmanuel Baptist Church

Feb. 19 - Script Your Future informational booth at the TeenExpo, South Charleston

Feb. 22 - Script Your Future informational booth in collaboration with the PharmUC Cholesterol and Blood Pressure Screen, sponsored by PharmUC and the American Pharmacists Association (APhA)

Feb. 27 - Script Your Future informational booth at the Charleston Silver Sneaker event, sponsored by Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA)
