A trust is giving West Virginia University's law school more than $7 million to help pay for a building and renovation project.
The university says the gift from the Hazel Ruby McQuain Charitable Trust is the largest capital gift in the law school's history.
The gift is being made as part of "A State of Minds: The Campaign for West Virginia University."
College of Law dean Joyce McConnell said Tuesday that the gift will launch the law school into a new era of legal education and service.
WVU broke ground last fall for the $25 million building and renovation million project. It includes adding 20,000 square feet for classrooms, law clinics and the Center for Energy and Sustainable Development.
