Authorities said debris from a rock slide caused a CSX train to derail in Harrison County.
One locomotive and five freight cars derailed in Gore on Saturday after the train hit the debris. The derailed cars went over a hill and hit several utility poles.
CSX spokesman Bill Sullivan told media outlets that the train was carrying coal. It was traveling from a CONSOL Energy mine in the area to Brunswick, Md., when the derailment occurred.
Sullivan said about 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel leaked from the locomotive. Most of the fuel was contained but some entered the West Fork River. Some of the coal also spilled.
No injuries were reported.
