The Boyd County Sheriff's Department said two people were arrested after two separate undercover drug buys.
Deputies arrested Michael J. Mayo, 56, and James D. Daniels, Jr., 50, both of Ashland during two separate drug buys Thursday.
Undercover deputies with the Boyd County Drug Task Force said they bought 10 oxycodone pills from Mayo. After searching his home, deputies said they discovered more pills and money, according to a news release from the sheriff's department. Deputies said Mayo was previously convicted of trafficking cocaine. Mayo is charged with trafficking a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
Deputies said they made an undercover buy of oxycodone pills from Daniels and found drugs, drug paraphernalia and cash in his home. Daniels is charged with trafficking a controlled substance.
Both men were being held at the Boyd County Detention Center. The sheriff's department expects to make more arrests in connection with the trafficking investigation.
