Kroger plans to expand and renovate its Ashton Place Shopping Center store, following its purchase of the property, but there are no plans to add a gas station at the site.
Carl York, advertising and public affairs manager for Kroger, said the changes will bring a better shopping experience for customers.
“When the store is complete it will look brand new," York said. "Customers will see new cases, equipment, new décor inside and skylights will be added to let in natural light for a brighter store to shop.”
Kroger Co. has acquired the Ashton Place Shopping Center in Charleston.
Media outlets report that Hanley Investment Group Real Estate Advisors announced the deal Thursday. The sale amount wasn't disclosed.
Hanley represented a Tennessee-based private investor who sold the property to Kroger Limited Partnership of Cincinnati.
Kroger's store anchors the Ashton Place Shopping Center.
Hanley senior vice president Kevin Fryman says Kroger plans to renovate and expand its store.
