Two Wayne County fire departments will get training and equipment upgrades thanks to a federally-funded grant.
The Ceredo and Kenova Volunteer Fire Departments are the recipients of the Operations and Safety grants from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency, a news release from U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall said. The Kenova Volunteer Fire Department will receive $29,811 to buy thermal imaging cameras and chainsaws. The Ceredo Volunteer Fire Department plans to use $8,312 in funding for training.
The Fort Ashby Volunteer Fire Department in Marion County also received grant money from the program.
