Eyewitness News has learned the name of the miner killed at a Kanawha County mine Wednesday.
Brandon E. Townsend, 34, of Delbarton died in that accident, family members said.
The name of the injured miner has not been released.
Mine officials returned to the scene Thursday to continue their investigation.

State inspectors have been called to the scene of a mine fatality in Kanawha County, WV.
The U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration spokeswoman says that a hydraulic jack exploded on a belt press killing one miner and injuring another.
MSHA has issued an order to close the facility and a federal mine inspector has been called to investigate.
The name of the miners have not been released.

One fatality was reported and one minor injury occurred at a mine in Eastern Kanawha County.
A spokeswoman for the West Virginia Miners, Health, Safety and Training said the incident occurred at Blue Creek Prep Plant Midland Trail Energy LLC. The accident involved a hydraulic cylinder.
The mine is located five miles out Campbells Creek Drive.
A mine fatality has been reported in Kanawha County.
Metro 911 said the death occurred at Catenary Coal in Malden.
