Some local middle school students spent part of their morning in a courtroom Wednesday.
Students from Horace Mann Middle School held a mock trial in Kanawha Circuit Judge Louis “Duke” Bloom's courtroom.
They were given three cases to choose from and picked a case about assault. They wrote a play about it, and Wednesday morning they had an opportunity to act out the parts of prosecution and defense.
The students said it was great lesson on criminal law. They have been taking part in the West Virginia Law Adventure program for the last five years.
