West Virginia Lottery Commission Director John Musgrave is taking on additional duties.
Department of Revenue Secretary Charles Lorensen has appointed Musgrave as deputy secretary of the department.
In his new role, Musgrave will oversee the Lottery, the Alcohol Beverage Control Administration, the Racing Commission, and the Athletic Commission.
All four agencies are now housed at the Lottery Commission's headquarters. Previously, they were located at various sites around Charleston.
Lorensen told the Charleston Gazette that the change will improve his department's efficiency.
Lorensen also said he is now serving as acting tax commissioner in addition to Revenue secretary. The change was effective Feb. 1.
The Ethics Commission granted an employment exemption to former Tax Commissioner Craig Griffith allowing him to seek a job in the private sector.
