A former executive with Chase Bank's Charleston branch faces charges of embezzling more than $59,000 from his employer.
Mark McCoy is charged in a federal information with embezzling by a bank employee.
The 46-year-old Charleston resident was employed as the vice president of private client banking services at the bank's Charleston branch from September 2008 until June 2012.
According to the information, the money was embezzled on Jan. 19, 2011.
The information was filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Charleston. Federal prosecutors asked the court on Tuesday to schedule a guilty plea hearing.
If convicted, McCoy faces up to 30 years in prison and a fine up to $1 million.
