The two men arrested in connection with Monday evening's kidnapping in Roane County were arraigned Tuesday.
Rodney Workman has been charged with kidnapping, conspiracy, brandishing, wanton endangerment, domestic assault and domestic battery. Timothy Drake has been charged with kidnapping and conspiracy.
The two men were arrested in connection with the kidnapping Monday night of a woman in Roane County. The woman was able to escape at the Granny's Creek Bridge. Court documents identified the victim as Dawn Renee Roush, Workman's ex-girlfriend. Workman allegedly had a pistol, and Drake was allegedly the driver.
Two men were arrested Monday night in connection with the kidnapping of a woman in Roane County.
State Police said Rodney Workman grabbed his ex-girlfriend from a truck at bus stop in Pigeon. They said he pulled her into a vehicle driven by his friend, Timothy Drake.
The two men drove down Big Sandy Road with the woman in the car, and that's when the victim claims Workman threatened to kill her, State Police said.
But once they came to Granny's Creek Bridge, troopers said, the victim managed to escape after running into her mother.
"As far as I know, she pulled up beside them. She recognized the vehicle and the ex-girlfriend (the victim) jumped out of the truck and got into her mother's vehicle," Sgt. Saley Hatten of the West Virginia State Police said.
Workman is charged with kidnapping, domestic battery, domestic assault and wanton endangerment.
Drake is charged with kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
The victim suffered some bruises, but troopers said she is OK.
