Two homeless men accused of robbing a Charleston bank last summer appeared in court Monday to try to get some of the evidence against them tossed out of court.
Lawyers for Anthony Williams and Billy Reed claimed their statements were improperly obtained. Williams said he asked for a lawyer, and Reed claimed he was roughed up. Detectives said both statements were properly obtained.
The men were arrested moments after the United Bank in the Charleston Town Center was robbed last June. Police followed a trail of dropped money and discarded disguises.
Kanawha Circuit Court Judge Carrie Webster has not issued a ruling as of yet. Stay with Eyewitness News for the latest developments.
