Sixty-seven people were granted a new title Monday that they can be proud of – United States citizen. The new citizens were sworn in during a naturalization ceremony at the Charleston federal courthouse. U.S. District Judge Joseph Goodwin presided over the ceremony. Several patriotic songs were performed during the ceremony and a favorite of mountaineers, “Country Roads.” John Brawley Post No. 20 was there to assist with the pledge of the allegiance to the flag and the retirement of colors. The Woman’s Club of Charleston served refreshments.
