Victims of flooding in the Spring Valley area of Wayne County will receive compensation from the City of Huntington after a rain storm in May of 2011.
According to news release from attorneys, a jury in Wayne County Circuit Court found the City of Huntington negligent in maintaining a storm drain system, which is said to have backed up creating flooding problems.
18 families who resided in the area have received damage compensation of nearly $1 million.
Mary Adkins received damage to her home and car during the May 2011 flooding,
"I'm happy to get what we deserve," Adkins said. "We're all happy."
