The Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested a man after they said he crossed state lines to pick up a 14-year-old girl after meeting her online.
Robert W. Stringer, 25, of Ridgeview was charged with custodial interference on Tuesday. Investigators believe the suspect began an online relationship with the Kentucky girl, according to a news release from the Boone Sheriff's Department. Authorities said the suspect picked the girl up from school earlier this week and traveled back to his home.
The sheriff's department was tipped off after receiving information about the incident from Kentucky authorities. Stringer faces the charge of custodial interference from Kentucky authorities, but could be facing additional charges in Boone County, the sheriff's department said.
