U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin and Rep. Shelley Moore Capito joined state education administrators Monday for a financial aid roundtable at West Virginia State University.
Government leaders and dozens of teachers and counselors talked about how to provide more financial aid to students and how to keep them out of debt.
School leaders were able to voice their concerns and ideas on how to improve financial aid in the state.
Manchin said he hopes to bring these concerns back to Washington and to resolve the debt problem to keep more students in school.
Manchin said the latest statistics show more people are in financial aid debt than credit card debt.
